There are times when you want to make sure that nature does not repeat its miracle once more in the same spot. It might be because you want to ensure that your power line clearing will not require anything but minimal attention in the future.
Up to now it has been virtually impossible to preserve the rest of the environment concerned when exterminating certain plants or trees but the new and improved Ecoplug and its patented Clean Injection System provide novel possibilities.
The main principle of Ecoplug® is treatment by individual injection of a pesticide. You give it to every single plant or tree that you want to get rid of. In some cases this sounds like an impossible and ridiculous mission, but in other cases it’s the only way to obtain the desired results.
The particular qualities and the exactitude of Ecoplug® the long –felt need of modern environmental laws, numerous delicate situations and special treatments.
Ecoplug® doesn’t only give you a way to permanently get rid of plants and trees. The plug can also be used for a wide range of treatments such as injection of fungicides and other chemicals.
The easiest and most effective method of solving a "growing" problem
To clear up sprouting is a recurring expensive activity
Foliferous trees grow at different rates. However, they have one common characteristic – they continue growing after having been cut down. Stumps and roots sprout new shoots that grow. In a few months these can transform a stump into a bush as tall as a man. The solution is not to keep clearing up those bushy sprouts, which is simply an expensive and recurring method.Liquid chemicals – not a timely solution
The treatment of a stump with chemicals in liquid form has to date been the only method of preventing root- and stump sprouting. This method is heavy, risky and expensive. Big chemical drums must be moved around often resulting in spillage of chemicals on the skin and on green areas.ECOPLUG® challenges these being light, safe, ergonomic and cost effective
The ECOPLUG® has revolutionised the treatment! The plug contains the biodegradable granula Roundup® Dry. The ECOPLUG® reduces the amount of chemical used by 90-95% compared to the liquid chemical required for the same area when applied by spraying. The plug cracks when hammered into the stump. The granula quickly dissolves in the sap which spreads it to the roots through the stump’s own capillary. The chemical is only applied exactly where it is needed. In one "blow" the surrounding environment has been protected against spillage of chemicals and against root- and stump sprouting. In addition to that the ECOPLUG® may also be used during winter.
The ECOPLUG® can be used wherever the prevention of sprouting is required
The ECOPLUG® can be used in small as well as large areas, golf courses, municipal parks, and road crossings. Other potential areas include utility roads, railway embankments, road reserves, canal embankments, industrial areas, military fields, rifle ranges, and areas which require high visibility such as areas surrounding bridges and lighthouses.Documented use during several years
ECOPLUG® is a patented Swedish product, which is used, in great quantities in Sweden, Norway and the USA. The level of interest for Ecoplug® is increasing rapidly in other countries. Large-scale field tests are currently being performed in Portugal, France, Brazil, Australia, New Zeeland and South Africa.Ecoplug Sweden AB has recently signed an agreement with Monsanto Europe SA.
Monsanto is the producer of the active ingredient (glyphosate) that is inside all Ecoplugs. The agreement gives Ecoplug Sweden AB the right to use Monsanto's glyphosate in all countries in the so-called EU-25. Before commercialisation in each country Ecoplug Sweden AB has to obtain a registration from the pesticide board in each country. That process will start in most of the countries during 2008. At the same time we will be looking for potential distributors/partners in the new markets.
